life

Love
and legs
and long hot nights
and longing
Pain
and pan sticks
and pretty dresses
and pretending
Time
and touches
and taught lessons
and tenderness
Struggle
and staying
and standing firm
and stupid mistakes
Distance
and desires
and desperate cries
and despair
Care
and candles
and cuddled talks
and cute stares
Fear
and fun and games
and foot massages
and feeling silly
Choice
and chasing
and chiseled muscles
and charred memories
Hope
and hugs
and hurting hearts
and happy endings

sense me

kiss me and say with your tongue
what you would have said with your voice
kiss me and show me the pain
your tongue has felt and caused
kiss me and give me a taste of your passion

touch me and say with your hands
what you dare not say with your voice
touch me and let me know the lives
of your fingertips, their ups and downs
touch me and teach me to feel your strength

see me and say with your eyes
what you know to be true
see me and share the places you have been
and the people you have known
see me and give me a window into your world

audible smiles

The voice that I know so well,
sounds so different when you laugh;
a joy shared and multiplied
immediately upon release.
A voice used to express anger,
pain and frustration
is turned into a melodious sound
that is distinctly you...
A sweet singing of happiness
carried along in waves,
accompanied by smiles and radiant eyes.
The voice that I know so well
sounds so different,
so wonderful, so relaxing,
so energetic, so addictive,
so uniquely beautiful
when you laugh.

eye sight

Eyes: the windows to his soul
are heavy with the weight of losing control;
are bright with fear of an unknown path
and filled with the calm of an experienced past;
are glazed with the release of his deepest pain
and glow with the joy released like rain;
they betray the expressions forced on his face
and ignite with desires he thought he misplaced.

destiny's crossroad

She leans her head upon his chest,
a lifetime in every sigh,
she can't believe he is here after all this time.
She tries to think that this is it,
the last time he will ever leave,
but her mind won't let go
of the thoughts her heart forced it to conceive.
Their life together, wrought with pleasure
and pain in equal measure,
has now become a circumstance
pregnant with potential in either direction.
None of them planned to end up there,
none of them chose...

take five

five minutes to pen the burdens of the mind
five minutes to release the tension gained with time
five minutes to lay them all on the wanting page
only five minutes...

scented flame

A sweet aroma fills the air,
a flame burns away the cares
leaving only an olfactory memory
- a new trigger that will stir the mind
in that direction from this day forward

debt

I am a bit of a miser and have (through no effort of my own) managed to be debt-free for quite a long time in my life. That has changed, simply because this life doesn't allow for it and not because I prefer life that way. I'm managing my debt and find that as long as I am on top of things, I don't get anxious about it.

Lately I realized that financial debt is not the only debt I try to escape. If there are files on my desk, they need to get off, and the more files come, the faster I move to get rid of them. The feeling I get when I owe someone something is transferred no matter what that something ends up being, whether it's work, money or my time. And the same feeling of satisfaction comes when I get the job done. Hmm, no wonder I work best under high work volume.

Personality connections are fascinating :)

consequences

I didn't feel like letting the few rule my life and ruin my evening, but in the end, logic wins over emotion. It always does. But we never learn.

tornado

The transformation of each of us with time in this life can be so drastic that we do not recognize our own selves or the others we used to know. It is always fascinating when people switch roles, or when emotions overturn without our control. Few times these changes meet or exceed our expectations, but most of the time they will catch us off guard and send our original expectations through a painful whirlwind.

privacy

You think you have it, but you really don't.

souls and mates

"Somebody tell me why I'm on my own if there's a soulmate for everyone."

Now I'm not sold on the concept of a soul mate, but I do know that most people think of that mate in a romantic setting, so I ask... who says your soul mate has to be someone you're romantically attracted to?

Hmmm. Maybe you have your soul mate and have not acknowledged him or her as such.

traveller

I realize that the times when I leave my house and don't see it for days, where I change to go to the next event from the clothes in my car, when the next hour is unplanned but ends up being a great time anyway, is when I feel the most at home.

what's the deal?

I have a new problem. Maybe I always had it, but before now I was probably part of the problem, or at least, participating in the behaviour.

Why do we speak out against crime on a certain group of people? Gays and lesbians, women, 'blacks', Jews... and on and on. We make it seem like crime is ok, but once it is targetted at a specific group, it is the worst sin in the world.

WAKE UP PEOPLE!

People are people! Who cares if a man is being beaten because he's gay, or because he's black, or because he's Arabic? A man is being beaten! Full stop! We need to stop this racial/sexual/age/colour/height/weight/gender/nationality distinctions and start behaving like everyone matters. Why is the man who kills me for my wallet better than the man who kills me for my skin colour. I'M STILL DEAD!

It's the subtle behaviours and thoughts that define us. The things we do instinctively that we don't even think once about, but that we learned from someone else. We need to start examining them and thinking about what we are saying and doing so we don't instinctively pass this behaviour on to our children. Prejudice against groups of people is never going to stop if we constantly think of people in groups.

Each individual matters!

compromise

Two highly creative people can either hold firm and have their ideas clash, or bend and create great masterpieces together.

where your heart is... safe

'I'm staring out into the night,
trying to hide the pain.
I'm going to the place where love
and feeling good don't ever cost a thing,
and the pain you feel's a different kind of pain.

I'm going home,
back to the place where I belong,
and where your love has always been enough for me.
I'm not running from,
no, I think you got me all wrong,
I don't regret this life I chose for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old...

...be careful what you wish for,
'Cause you just might get it all,
and then some you don't want.

I'm going home.'

quote of the day

"...‘If the Lord would give me wings, I’d fly.’

I used to answer,

‘If God bids me fly, I will trust Him for the wings.’"

reflection

That thing on your body, or in your personality that you are very conscious of, that you don't like... if you found out that someone actually loved that very thing about you, would it change how you felt about yourself?

reveal

A clouded window serves to protect and to guard.
Making it fully transparent is often risky
and downright dangerous at times.

love and hate

...are not that different from each other.
Both can brew and fester if left unchecked
and grow, even subconsciously,
into something that can consume you.
