natural worship

A quiet afternoon sends an invitation to a secluded garden, filled with inspiration for the creative mind. The wind caresses the hands that caress the page as image after image is scratched into place. A wonderful time of bonding with nature and art.

peg me

"A thousand times I’ve failed, still your mercy remains,
and should I stumble again, still I’m caught in your grace...

Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades.

Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame.
My heart and my soul - I give you control,
Consume me from the inside out, Lord.
Let justice and praise become my embrace,
To love you from the inside out

Your will above all else, my purpose remains
the art of losing myself in bringing you praise.

Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades.
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame,
and the cry of my heart is to bring You praise
from the inside out, Lord my soul cries out!"

a light as a feather post...

I thank God I'm me.

That may sound a little vain, but I think we all have to shower ourselves with love once in a while.

I love you me.

I love the way you laugh at everything, and can even make yourself laugh (I kill me!). Belly killing, eyes watering, sound cracking laughing. Even those things that can make you cry, eventually when you look back, can literally make you laugh out loud (no kidding). I love that there is always something to find to smile and laugh about.

I love the way you don't take certain things to heart. The way you dish it and receive it. OK, some things do affect you, but you gloss it over pretty well, and after a while, it really does not matter anymore. I love how quickly you forgive, and the way that sleep can cure a mountain of miserable.

I love that you have lows, but thankfully they don't last very long. I love the way you give bear hugs and the way you love to be squeezed in return. I love that you love food and, barring barbecue sauce, mushrooms and beetroot, are not too picky about what you eat.

I love that you are adventurous and wildly spontaneous and will pick up and go at the jingle of keys. I love that you love the beach, the sand between your toes, the sound, smell, look and feel of the sea, both at your feet and way above your head. I love that you are absolutely in love with two of God's wonderful things: nature and music.

I love that you are a true hybrid of science and art, and that you can appreciate the beauty of numbers; the stroke of an artist's brush; and words formed into poetry all with the same eyes. I love that your hands are always on the move wanting to find things to build, and paint, and draw, and write, and mold, and play, and sign, and dance! I love the way you love the arts.

I love that you are short and appreciate short, both in stature and conversation. I like the way you have a fetish for words, the clever use of words, the description of things in visual ways... the way you see life in images. I love the way you like to capture those images either on a canvas or through a lens.

I love you me.

I love me some me.

master jack

I have been blessed with a multiplicity of interests,
and plagued with a lack of time to develop each to professionalism.
I have developed a complacent attitude of being content to dabble in all
but this jack of all trades now tires of being master of none.
I know myself enough to admit
that I will not settle for concentrating on only one,
so I will attempt to raise the bar on all,
and be master of some.

guilty heart's desire

I am guilty my Lord of stirring up love before its time
of tasting of lips that were not mine
of stirring the heart to feel open and free
to love someone who did not love You or me

I am guilty my Lord of not heeding your words
of listening instead to the lies of this world
of thinking that love is a right, a coming of age
of treating a road to marriage as a game, a lust-filling stage

I am guilty my Lord and now penalty I face
complications and weary hearts left in its place
a remedy is sought in this request of mine
that You bury my love and awaken her when it is time

face it

I once believed I could not hide the way I felt, that it would constantly show through my face no matter what. That has changed. It seems I am able to hide it very well when I am conscious enough to care. But now I see something else creeping in.. an inability of other people to read my expressions correctly. Lately I have been getting questions and comments about how people think I feel based on what is displayed on my face. I tend not to bother to correct them when they have read my expression wrongly, but it does lead me to be quite curious as to what my face really displays at those moments.

vacillation

Why do feelings change so rapidly from day to day?
What makes someone want something very badly one day,
and completely reject it the next?

Is life really meant to be this haphazard?

if this were a war

"Sometimes I'm less than faithful to you.

'Infidel!' they'd call me if this were a war...
and it is.

Yet sometimes even I do forget,
it's a war for righteousness

and if I don't shoot for life
I shoot for death...

it's a fight for righteousness
and if I don't shoot for Christ
I shoot for hell."

a man

Sometimes it takes the voice of a man before we - women - realize how much we short-change ourselves by accepting boys in their place.

web of lives

It could very well be possible that something you have prayed for and have received no answer is not because God has not heard, but because someone else has not responded.

We are His body. If we don't listen and obey, prayers may not get answered, and even our own paths, the best we could ever receive, may be laying dormant in front of our very eyes.

human tendencies

We feel incomplete without each other and yet we often refuse to acknowledge and accept it.

Happy independence... if ever there really is such a thing.

you now

Is it anything we thought it would be,
do you see me when I think of you,
do you hear me when I speak to you,
are you there the way we thought you would be?

Is it anything we dreamed it would be,
does it feel the way we thought it would feel,
is there anything at all left to feel,
are you far away or right here with me?

Is it anything we read it would be,
are you eternally happy or forever in need,
are you a new person replaced where we are
or an angel guiding us from afar?

Where are you now?

unwritten

projects left started and unfinished
thoughts left lingering, waiting to be voiced
questions left asked and unanswered
stories left to be formed, unwritten and untold

double take

She steps into a desolate space, the noises all around slowly fade into the background of the silence in her mind. She sees no one she knows and no one she wants to know. Is this the right place? Did she make a wrong turn? Where has everyone gone? She turns around to leave and then realizes there is no where else to go. This is where she is to be, in their presence or not, this is where she needs to be. She resolves to make the most of this misfortune and turns to look at the place again with a different eye, an open-minded eye, and all of sudden, it comes alive!
