The sun in all its splendour
is bright enough to show the pain,
so I choose the rain.

the way
‘Without the way you cannot go, without the truth you cannot know, without the life you cannot grow’
-unknown
Do you know for sure (100%) that you are on your way to heaven when you die?
If no, read on.
If yes for any one of the following:
-‘I am or try to be a good person’
-‘I read my Bible and pray’
-‘I attend church and/or are a member thereof’
-‘I am a member/part of a Christian/Catholic religion’…
though these are all good, the Bible doesn’t say they will get you there… also read on.
You can know!
'These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.' (1 John 5:13)
Realize
‘As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:’(Rom 3:10)
‘For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;’ (Rom 3:23)
‘Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:’ (Rom 5:12)
Know
‘For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.’ (Rom 6:23)
‘For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:’
(Eph 2:8)
Going to heaven is a gift. Nothing you can do, whether be good, go to church, join a religion… will earn you that gift. You just have to reach out and take it.
Believe & Receive
‘That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’ (Rom 10:9-13)
a simple prayer from the mouth of a believing heart should work just fine. no fancy words required.
The Promise
‘He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.’ (John 3:36)
The above is affectionately called the ‘Romans road to salvation’ because it is laid out quite clearly there. There are many religions you can join and church denominations you can be a part of, but all means nothing if the truth is not taught. Once saved always saved, and salvation is not about the deeds you do - those give you rewards in Heaven. However, don’t take my, or anyone else’s, word for it. Read it all for yourself.
‘Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.’
-Jesus Christ, The KJ Bible (John 14:6)

do what you love what you do
'This above all; to thine own self be true.'
- William Shakespeare
he is steadily striving in his field, becoming the scholar expected by those that think him fully capable. his own thoughts on his path take him through series of highs and lows, few of which bring him great joy. though he is surrounded by brilliance and high intellectual stimulation, his artistic side cries for attention.
he knows many who hold great artistic potential, and only one that has headed the cry; taking that path as a career. he wishes he could gain the courage to step out of the mold of potential security and gain the freedom to try something new and exciting. though his current course demands a great deal of his time, he convinces himself that he can do both, placing his art on the side. he does his talents injustice, as he fully comprehends that on the side is exactly where they will sit and stay.

empty
Stifled, my potential locked away, fighting to be expressed. I am left only to listen, watch and yearn, more than I thought possible. I long to be there, to hear the sounds, to feel the beat rock my core, to see the lights and absorb the rush and excitement that flows with their brightening, to experience the anticipation and then absolute gratitude of the audience.
I can feel my sticks in my hands as they float weightlessly from note to note, releasing upon contact sweet sounds that merge in harmony with others unleashed simultaneously. I can hear the shouts of those around me as the intensity of our excitement causes us to move in synchrony, unifying our individual love for the music into one stream of exhilaration, radiating to those who watch.
I can see the canvas that is the stage waiting for expression of a message through music, mood and motion. I feel the air moving against me as I release myself to the rhythms, emotionally executing the choreography in its entirety. I hear the resounding response of an audience fully comprehending as they watch the dance unfurl before them.
now... separation has forced a new fate. the sticks have stopped, the movement has faded, the crowd is silent, the lights are out, the air is still, and my stage is empty.

surface reflection
it is hard sometimes to see the mirror and accept and love what is there.
when she is not looking she feels more confident, more secure, more like she can conquer the world and no one can stand in her way.
she passes her reflection and is reminded. she spends time looking, dissecting the image and trying to see how she might make it better without making it false. this life has portrayed the fallacy that long and flowing is beautiful, but she possesses short and madly curly, so much so in fact, 'curly' does not adequately describe her. this feature is important to her. it is that which frames her face, and, in her eyes, has the power to alter her beauty with each style.
she must make a choice: sacrifice that which she was first given and gain the beauty she thinks the world prefers, or find the strength to deal with herself unaltered and, convincing herself first, realize that true beauty lies in natural diversity.

shade
Energy is neither created nor destroyed, but is transformed from one form to another.
- 1st Law of Thermodynamics
...dark, deep tones that attract the rays and increase the flow of energy inward. Much like a plant that needs not only food but light for survival, so am I. No wonder my descriptions include energetic, full of life, in constant motion, even aggressive. I am clothed in a catalyst, wrapped in a light-harvesting pigment. That being exuded is no more than the transfer of the Sun’s brilliance, and those that have been kissed by it should be all the more radiant for it.

seesaw
I did not intend to use this blog for the purpose of reviewing films, but one in particular demands exception. If you are at all interested in suspense/horror/thrillers then this is definitely a film not to be missed! Saw, directed by James Wan (screenplay: Leigh Whannell) absolutely grabs the viewer from the opening shot straight through to the last.
With the exception of movies written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan (e.g. Sixth Sense), I tend to find myself disappointed with psychological thrillers. That was far from the case here. Like all movies of its nature, there are the few times you find yourself screaming ‘just shoot already!!’ however this is quickly forgiven considering the many other levels at which the film captivates its audience. Though there are instances I would rather not watch for fear my heart rate escalate to dangerous levels, I could not bear to tear my eyes from the screen. The film rates pretty high on the graphic scale, but that’s one of the many reasons it pulls you in. Not only is it unpredictable, you find yourself sitting in utter disbelief at what you’re seeing or about to see.
My rule with any movie is ‘see it for yourself and form your own opinion’, but if you prefer the referral approach, I recommend you see Saw.
