choices

they shape our today,
paint our yesterdays,
and determine our tomorrows;

can create agony when done in haste,
is agony personified when dragged for too long,
but can be perfect peace when done wisely;

ruptures anxiety when the consequences
are heavier than I care to manage;
but is a necessary evil that none can escape

for to choose not to choose is a choice in itself.
