my green lullaby
soothing me to sleep
as the leaves gently sway
in the breeze of a hot summer day
my green lullaby
blades tall and slender
caress my face
and leave their scent
as I lay starring at the sky
my green lullaby
fading into the distant
slowly drowned out
by noise of sharp blades
by concrete, steel, and ply
my green lullaby
faded and worn but not fully gone
sitting on the inside
of a precious little seed
waiting to be set free
