Scream it out!
In every place
the conflict's the same.
A crack in the wall
pours in light
but tiny openings
are too slight for
peeping eyes
to pull it all
into the mind.
Everything's closer
through the glass,
but disrupted,
the illusion fades.
The distance remains
difficult to see,
impossible to reach
through the cracked wall
from either side.

I've gotten a few requests for insight into this post. My last explanation to a friend was the most plain, so I'll share it here:
It deals with communication. how we strive to maintain it and how easily it can break down.
The 'crack in the wall' is an analogy to how much we let ppl know about ourselves by how much we choose to tell them.
The 'glass' represents communicating remotely (via a computer for eg.)... the screen we hide behind that brings us close yet keeps us far.
